Xenophobic attacks: Onyeama meets SA counterpart today

Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama is billed to meet his South African counterpart, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane this morning in Pretoria, South Africa.

Although the Govt of Nigeria‏ @AsoRock twitter page, which posted it on its handle Monday failed to give more details, it is expected that the recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and nationals of other African countries will top their discussions.
For some time now Onyeama has been under attack from large swaths of both the traditional and social media for his seeming failure to take action following the brutal attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa.

Both the Upper and Lower Chambers of the National Assembly in Abuja have condemned in strong terms the xenophobic attacks, with the House of Representatives even dispatching a delegation to the Rainbow Nation to implore their colleagues there to get the government of Jacob Zuma to do more to protect the lives and business concerns of Nigerians in South Africa.
