Akosua Puni who is the wife of Ghanaian and former Chelsea star Michael Essien has reportedly bought an Italian third tier football club named Como for £206,000.

The report stated that Akosua Puni explained that she wants to be part of the club's history and has paid £206,000 at auction.
In 2016, the club were said to have been declared bankrupt and they currently occupy seventh position on the Lega Pro standings. The club have however made a statement to confirm the new owner.
“The new owner and her team wish to make both the first team and the youth team grow and become an integrated part of the city. “They will put their efforts into creating conditions to take the team back to Serie B and to develop the club’s young talents to the best of their ability.” the club said in a statement.
Como were relegated to Italy’s third tier last term and were in Serie A in the 2002-03.League season.
