Imagine if a UFO named TECHRULES “Ren” supercar from Transformers was idling away waiting to be jacked up from a machine sleep.

That was my first reaction to this car but as I learned about this wild-card, the realization set-in: the Ren is a supercar with elite performance and an exterior design that weighs function over form.

One of the craziest premieres at this year’s Geneva Auto Show was from a Chinese automaker named Techrules. This year Techrules brought its first production car to the floor, the “Ren”.

Personally, I feel this is a unique design with its “look at me” 3-seat layout.

And, there is no denying the car’s impressive specs and technology.

The car is actually more Italian than Chinese. It was created by two highly talented Italian designers named Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro.

In fact each car will be hand built in Italy (not China).

Every exterior detail of the “Ren” is built to aid with the car’s aerodynamics.
Even the triple jet-fighter like glass canopies were designed to give passengers the feeling of excitement while maintaining a low level of exterior drag.

Inside the car, speakers and microphones are built into the seats which gives the passengers the ability to talk to each other while having the experience of driving in a personal bubble.
Also the company only use top-end materials: Italian leathers and seat cushions finished in a denim that is specifically designed by a high-end Italian clothing company named “PT” (standing for Pantaloni Torino).

The driver has 3 digital screens that projects the usual information along with displaying the camera projecting rear view mirror.

As for the performance technology, we can begin with the car’s power-plant. Techrules developed a proprietary diesel/electric hybrid system they call TREV (Turbine-Recharging Electric Vehicle).
With the aid of 6 electronic engines, 2 on the front wheels and 4 helping turn the rear wheels, its engine churns out near zero emissions along with an unbelievable power rating of 1,287 hp.

Finally the car’s exterior design allows air to flow gently over aerodynamic body. The gaudy looking vertical side panels and squared-off wide rear both serve to reduce drag.

Designers even came up with 3 canopy configurations, depending on the number of passengers…stating the obvious, less passengers set-up equals less exterior drag.

Testing has just begun on the “Ren” but at this point, the car’s strait line speed brings in a realistic 0-60mph time of 2.5 seconds along the the car’s ability to easily hit the 200mph top-speed mark.

This creation is pure super/hyper-car and it will carry an estimated price-tag in the seven-figures range.

Considering this potential and likely million dollar-plus value; i can't wait for the “Ren” to hit the streets because she will turn heads where ever it goes…and that last element goes along ways in the buying mind-set of the ultra rich customers that this young Chinese company is going after.
