THE National Football League’s annual championship is almost upon us, and it’s set to showcase the highest level of American football in the world as the Super Bowl 51 spectacle rolls into town. There’s no doubt that millions of fans from around the globe will be tuning in to watch the huge sporting occasion.
But when can you watch it and who is performing at the iconic half time show?

When is the Super Bowl 2017?

This year’s Super Bowl will be held on February 5 in the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Viewers from The UK can catch the game at 11:30pm on Sunday.
The championship is set to finish by 3:30, so there’s no doubt British sports fans will be left feeling a bit bleary-eyed on Monday morning.

Where can you watch the Super Bowl?

Over 70,000 fans are expected to watch the tournament live at the NRG stadium.
But for spectators that can’t make it to the event, both BBC One and Sky Sports 1 will be broadcasting live coverage.

Many fans will be backing the Patriots, who have already taken home the Vince Lombardi trophy on four previous occasions.

The Atlanta Falcons are undoubtedly the underdogs, as they’ve never scooped the prestigious prize before.
In the lead up to the event, both teams have had to shake off the Pittsburgh Steels, Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahaws, Houston Texans, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Oakland.
Accompanying the main event of the game itself is a stunt known as #TEAMBJ.
If the Patriots win, porn stars Lauren Philips and Carmen Valentina have promised to perform oral sex acts on fans.

Each year, different companies come up with inventive ways to get noticed at the highly-anticipated event.
Audi, Skittles, Paramount Pictures and Nintendo are among the teaser clips that have already been unveiled to the public.
The controversial advert addresses the hot topic of immigration, with the commercial released days after Donald Trump’s controversial executive order banning citizens from seven countries from entering the United States.
The advert is called “Born the Hard Way” and shows the company’s co-founder Adolphus Busch on his journey to the US.
