eSight makes glasses that let the blind see

These high-tech eSight 3 glasses are helping legally blind people see. The visor-like headset uses high-speed, high-definition cameras to capture what the user is looking at.The device uses algorithms to enhance the video feed, and displays the video through eSight 3’s OLED screens in front of the users’ eyes. The wearable headset has Wi-Fi and HDMI capabilities to stream digital content, and it can send pictures and videos. Each person who wears the glasses is able to control color, contrast, focus and magnification.

Right now, eSight 3 is not cheap, selling for $9,995, and insurance companies do not cover it, but the company that makes it says it has been able to provide headsets to people in need through fundraisers and grants.
