Okorocha Believes His Administration Has Scored 90%

While members of the opposing Peoples Democratic Party have labelled the administration of the current Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, as a ‘disaster’, the governor himself gave a self-acclaimed 90% rating to his administration. According to him, most of his campaign promises have been fulfilled, thus warranting such an high score. Why, though, did he say this despite the opposition claiming otherwise? First, the governor said that during his election campaign, he promised to build 27 general hospitals and he has done so with one present in each of the 27 local government areas present in the state. Secondly, the free education at all levels which he also promised during his campaign was also fulfilled by his administration.
“My administration has already fulfilled about 90 per cent of my campaign promises which includes building of 27 new general hospitals in each of the 27 local governments, free education at all levels” he said when he received the management of the Sun Publishing Company led by the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, Mr Eric Osagie, at his Spitbat Owerri residence on Tuesday.

Other ‘fulfilled promises’ cited by the governor include infrastructural development, urban renewal and attempts to address the power situation in the state. Considering that the governor listed about 5 successes in his 90% rating, it will mean that he had not fulfilled just about 1 election promise. Will Imo state residents agree with that?
