10 Most anticipated cars of 2017

We barely crossed into second half of 2015, yet we are already hearing news of upcoming cars that are due to arrive in 2017. This information is great for people who are wondering if they should purchase a car now, or wait for a bit longer. There is a lot in store for those who decide to wait, some new models and also some we are already very much used to. These are the most anticipated cars for 2017.

Tesla Model III
After changing the automotive world with his Model S, Elon Musk seems to be bent on eliminating fossil fuel cars on global roads once and for all. His company Tesla has announced a release of a new car in 2017 which will be called Tesla Model III. It will be quite similar to Tesla Model S, only 20% smaller and with a price tag right around $35,000. This promises to place Tesla within the budget limits of a larger client base.

Toyota Supra Mk V
It looks like Toyota is revamping its legendary Supra line of models. After setting the 90s ablaze with their twin turbo I6 Supra Mk IV, people were hopelessly wondering when will the next Supra arrive. Well that day has come as Toyota confirmed a next generation Supra that is currently under the project name of FT-1. Interestingly, Toyota is working with BMW on this one. They are currently developing a new platform and a new turbo I6 engine.

Apple Car

There is a rumor spreading around that Apple is working on a self driving car that we just might see in 2017. What we know for certain is that Apple is running a top secret project under the name of Titan, and that said project is related to automotive industry. It seems that Apple is looking to get on the “car of the future” wagon, and if their current products are any indication of the future, we are in for a treat

Lincoln Continental

It’s no secret that Lincoln has been struggling for a while. However, there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel for this car manufacturer. Their announced 2017 Lincoln Continental caught a lot of people by surprise and is generating hype as we speak. Its appearance closely resembles something Bentley would make, and it is said that this model will come with AWD. Lincolns new flagship sedan may just bring them back into the game.

Volvo XC90

Self-driving cars are currently the focus of many discussions. Tech giants are making promises to produce such vehicles in short future, but currently there is little weight to these stories. On the other hand, Volvo is committing. They have already made all preparations necessary to start the production of their XC90 self-driving SUV. It is based on this year’s XC90 model, and is currently the best bet for autonomous vehicles.

Chevrolet Bolt

Electric cars of today come with a cost. Both in regards to cost and practicality. Essentially, unless you go for something like Tesla you are limited to high-cost, low-range vehicles or hybrids. Chevrolet Bolt is looking to change that. According to Chevrolet, Bolt will have a range of 200 miles per charge, and will cost no more than $30,000. We doubt it will be able to challenge Tesla Model III, but it definitely widens the options available to customers looking to switch to electric.

Toyota Prius

Nothing new and exciting here, just a well proven platform that is receiving a face lift as well as performance upgrade. Instead of committing to produce a fully electric vehicle, Toyota is content with dominating the hybrid arena. 2017 Toyota Prius will most probably be able to reach 60 mpg in urban conditions, and will come equipped with more efficient electric motors. It may not be too pretty or stylish, but you have to agree that it does a great job.

BMW M2

Based on the new 2-Series line of models, BMW M2 is promising to be one of the most exciting things to drive in future years. With a twin turbo I6 engine capable of delivering 400 horsepower, BMW M2 promises to bring back the much loved driving experience of their old E30 M3. Needless to say, many fans are eagerly waiting for this model to be released.

Ford GT

The all familiar legend is back in a new suit and with a modernized heart. This newly announced Ford GT feels like the legitimate heir to the original GT, especially since it comes with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine capable of producing 600 horsepower. This, combined with new materials that should make the car lighter, tells us that 2017 Ford GT should offer an incredible driving experience.

Acura NSX
Acura made a very peculiar concept car back in 2012, named NSX. Many doubted this car, but it turned out to be a complete success. Now, almost four years later, Acura announced a new NSX that should be even more incredible than the original. Twin-turbocharged V6 under the hood, along with astonishing three electric motors result in this car producing over 500 horsepower. It also means that new Acura NSX will retain its innovative hybrid AWD system, making it the one hybrid super car we can stand behind.
