Venus Williams involved in fatal car crash in Florida, Kills One

US tennis star Venus Williams has been involved in an auto accident that caused the demise of a 78-year-old man. 

A representative for Palm Beach Gardens police in Florida affirmed to the BBC they were researching a deadly crash including the Grand Slam champion. 

A man was taken to a hospital after the mishap on June 9 and kicked the bucket two weeks after the fact from his wounds, he said. 

As indicated by TMZ, which broke the story, police believe she was to blame however her legal advisor says it was a mishap. 

The man who passed on, Jerome Barson, was going with his better half who was driving their vehicle through a crossing point when the impact happened. 

Ms Williams' auto all of a sudden dashed into their way and was not able to clear the intersection in time because of traffic jam, as per witness explanations in a police report acquired by US media. 

Mrs Barson was likewise taken to the hospital but however survived. 

"[Ms Williams] is to blame for violating the right of way of [the other driver]," the report stated, including that there were no other factors like medications, alcohol or cell phone distrations. 

The 37-year-old, seven-time Grand Slam champion supposedly told police she didn't see the couple's auto and she was driving slowly. 

Ms Williams' legal advisor Malcolm Cunningham told CNN in an announcement: "Ms Williams entered the intersection on a green light. The police report estimates that Ms Williams was travelling at 5mph when Mrs Barson crashed into her.
"Authorities did not issue Ms Williams with any citations or traffic violations. This is an unfortunate accident and Venus expresses her deepest condolences to the family who lost a loved one."

One week from now, Ms Williams is billed to play her twentieth Wimbledon competition in London, where she is seeded tenth. 

Ms Williams and her sister Serena have dominated the ladies' games for over two decades.
